Cohabitation Agreements

Some couples decide to live together and not marry.  Under these circumstances, it can be very important for partners to specify their rights and obligations in a cohabitation agreement – which is a legal document that specifies what happens in the event of a break up or death. Among other things, a cohabitation agreement can address the sharing of living expenses during the course of the relationship, the division of acquired assets/debts in the event of a death or separation, and financial support following a relationship’s dissolution.
