Parent Coordination is an alternative dispute resolution method for high-conflict custody cases. Upon consent of the parties, the Court can appoint a Parent Coordinator to assist parents with custody issues and the Parent Coordinator can ultimately make decisions in the best interests of the child when the parents cannot agree. The goal of Parent Coordination is to resolve custody disputes between parents where the parties agree and by order of Court. Parent Coordination has recently been implemented in Erie County and the attorneys at the Family Law Group, LLC have experience in representing clients that have participated in Parent Coordination. In addition, Attorney Melissa Shirey completed Parent Coordination training in October, 2009.
